Shockwave Therapy is a non-surgical procedure that uses strong soundwaves to stimulate a problematic area. The goals of this treatment are to diminish pain, break down scar tissue and adhesion, and improve blood flow.
Our Kinas Miracle Wave unit is great at treating muscle and tendon issues in the outer 2 inches of the body. Treatments are 5-15 minutes long and while the treatment can cause discomfort at the time of the treatment, most patients finish treatment with a noticeable reduction in pain immediately.
Shockwave Therapy is most commonly used to help treat the following conditions:
- Achilles tendon pain
- Plantar fasciitis
- Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
- Golfers elbow (medial epicondylitis)
- Patellofemoral syndrome / Runner’s knee
- Iliotibial Band syndrome
- Shin Splints
- Bony heel spurs
- Persistent muscle tension and knots around the spine
- Muscle or tendon pain in the shoulder, including rotator cuff
While results will vary, Shockwave Therapy tends to have consistent positive results for most ailments listed above.
